We are seeking a dynamic and engaging High School History Teacher to lead courses in Social Studies, U.S. History, and related historical subjects. This part-time role is ideal for an educator passionate about fostering critical thinking, historical literacy, and civic engagement in a supportive academic environment.

Schedule & Hours

• Total Weekly Hours: 22 hours per week
• Monday – Thursday: 12:00 PM – 5:00 PM
• Friday: 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging instruction in U.S. History, Social Studies, and related history electives.
• Develop inclusive lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards that encourage active student participation and analytical thinking.
• Assess and grade student coursework, essays, exams, and projects, providing constructive and timely feedback.
• Maintain a positive, well-managed classroom environment conducive to learning and respectful discussion.
• Track student progress and communicate regularly with parents, guardians, and administration regarding academic performance.
• Utilize educational technology and varied instructional strategies to accommodate diverse learning styles.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in History, History Education, Social Studies, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
• State teaching certification/license in Secondary Social Studies or History (or eligibility to obtain).
• Prior experience teaching high school history or student teaching at the secondary level.
• Strong classroom management, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to commit to the specified afternoon and Friday schedule consistently.
