Key Responsibilities

Perform comprehensive diagnostic evaluations to determine the physical and cognitive status of inpatients and outpatients, considering diagnosis and age-specific needs
Develop and implement individualized treatment plans with measurable goals, incorporating patient and family participation, and complete discharge planning in a timely manner
Maintain thorough documentation including initial evaluations, daily and weekly progress notes, discharge summaries, and other required notations
Participate in patient care conferences, family conferences, in-service programs, and departmental and interdepartmental meetings
Assist with coordination and supervision of Physical Therapy and Physical Therapy Assistant student programs, as well as Licensed Physical Therapy Assistants, Rehab Technicians, and Volunteers
Support department operations including Performance Improvement activities, productivity standards, and orientation of new associates

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's, Master's, or entry-level Doctorate of Physical Therapy degree from an accredited college or university
Current New Mexico Physical Therapist licensure required
BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) required
Minimum 1 year of Physical Therapy experience
Ability to float to Inpatient Rehab and Acute Care settings as required
Weekend availability required (Friday – Tuesday shift schedule)

Preferred Experience / Skills

Experience working in an inpatient rehabilitation or acute care environment
Familiarity with supervising Physical Therapy Assistants, Rehab Technicians, or student programs
Experience with Performance Improvement activities and departmental program development
